PRI 2015: Part 1


Fuel Safe had a few cutaway fuel cells so you can see all that is involved in creating one. Based out of Oregon, these guys are all about safety and light weight. In this picture you can see in great detail the bladder, which is made with a specialized coated fabric and elastomeric composite to stay flexible and not leak during a crash. The foam baffling prevents the fuel from sloshing. The fill plate on top has roll over protection on both the vent and filling portions of it.

This car is quite fitting for a Hondata booth.  It’s a Time Attack Honda Civic.

The Hondata Civic is powered by a 2-liter Acura RSX K20A engine, rated at 300hp @ 8800 RPM. Power is transferred through a Japanese Integra Type R.  The Civic features a Hondata KPro4 engine management system and Hondata traction control, and weighs in at just 2100-lb, including driver!

ATI Performance Products brought out a plethora of crank dampers to display.

Seen here are some units for the Honda K22, Acura NSX and Nissan GTR (with 5% underdrive).
