Project S2000: Part 27 – Building the F22c for Turbo Boost and Manifold Test Fit

  • Khiem Dinh

Everything looks to fit.  The good thing about 3D printed parts is that you can do an actual fit up of the part before you invest in making the real part.

It JUST fits under the OEM heat shield.

The Turbosmart Comp-Gate40 wastegate does fit, but it’s pretty tight.  Again, thanks to 3D printing we can actually confirm this.

We can remove that one screw which holds on the heat shield to provide more clearance. That said, we’re pretty happy it fit the first try when all we were working off of were rough measurements with a tape measure and any picture we could find off the internet.

With the Garrett G25-660 with the 0.72 A/R turbine housing up in place, you can see there’s a good amount of space around the turbine housing.

On the front side, the compressor housing has good clearance to the frame rail.

This is the my setup that I’ve been running for years. It sounds like your best bet is to have a shop do a custom setup for you.
