Performance Racing Industry 2014: PART 2


Here’s a close-up of JE’s new asymmetrical piston for the Ford V6 Ecoboost engine, as shown to us by JE's own Sean Crawford.  Notice how they've machined the direct injection dish into the piston face.

Sean Crawford was also excited to show MotoIQ readers JE Pistons' new MLS (multi-layer steel) head gasket line for various applications, including this one for the 2JZ-GTE Supra engine.  This gasket features JE’s unique embossment process, which is where the gasket is hit multiple times to take shape.  After that, the gasket is heat treated and coated.

The JE gaskets also feature a folded stopper layer, which is a good for improved durability under high boost situations.

The folks at Innovate Motorsports came to PRI to showcase their hi-tech gauges.  Those three dual function units in the middle are for oil temp/oil pressure, water temp/battery voltage, and vacuum/boost with integrated shift light.  The rest represent the different styles of gauges they have, each of which can monitor a variety of different things.

The Innovate dual lambda 02 gauge is ideal for all V-engines running dual wide-band 02 sensors, and it’s got the ability to calibrate 02 sensors for maximum accuracy.  It also features interchangeable faceplates and bezels for a custom look.
