Getting More Power From the 4G63 With Link Engine Managment

The charge pipe is removed.

And the throttle body is taken off next.

Now the intake manifold can be unbolted from the head and removed from the car.

Next the Hypertune intake manifold we described in detail previously can be prepped for installation.

We are transferring the TPSĀ  to the new Hypertune throttle body. On the stock manifold, the idle air control valve attaches to the throttle body but with the Hypertune system, it goes straight into the intake manifold plenum.

Look how much bigger the Hypertune throttle body is even when compared to our big Skunk 2 throttle that was on the car previously. You can see the idle speed control valve on the Skunk 2 throttle body here as well.

  1. Ha ha. An Crydom S.S.R (solid state relay) We use those to turn the heaters on and off on blow molding and injection molding industry.

  2. I designed billet MIVEC housings for the EVO X, it doesn’t surprise me at all that it gets stuck, the whole system works with small springs, edge seals and tiny tolerances balanced with oil pressure. The slightest trace of gunk or grit anywhere will stop it.

The stock casting cracks when you put a bigger turbo in. We fixed the problem in our EVO 9, we removed it and put indexable cam gears instead.
