Building a 650 hp Naturally Aspirated Drift Spec LS3 Part 2

Shaft rockers need to be set up for the application for the geometry to be correct. For lower lifts, the valve stem needs to be below the top side of the shaft and for higher lifts, the valve stem needs to be above the shaft.  The correct height is measure by a dial gauge and a supplied stand height gauge and adjusted by shims under the shaft rocker rail.

Once the correct shim thickness is determined, the shaft stands can be bolted down and the rockers installed.

Next, the cam is slid into place.  We had WPC treated the camshaft for less friction and longer life.

The rear cam thrust plate is put into place next.

The front cam thrust plate is installed.

Next, the timing gear and chain are installed.
